The Town of Esopus, Ulster County, New York, is seeking a qualified attorney to serve as Special Prosecutor for the Town’s Vehicle and Traffic Court. The Special Prosecutor will be responsible for prosecuting Vehicle and Traffic Law matters in the Town Court and will appear approximately two (2) evenings per month and approximately 2 hours per session, as scheduled by the Court.
Qualifications:
- Admission to practice law in the State of New York, in good standing
- Experience prosecuting Vehicle and Traffic Law matters and/or criminal matters preferred
- Familiarity with Town Court procedures
- Ability to work independently and professionally with the Court, Court Clerk, and law enforcement agencies

- Compensation to be determined by the Town Board, commensurate with experience
